Is Home Staging Worth it?
The cost of staging a house you are selling seems to be a waste, but like other popular home improvement projects sellers use to romance their buyers, staging a home can yield a high Return on Investment (ROI). For starters the average time a potential buyer spends in a staged house is right around 40 minutes while the average time spent in an upstaged house is around roughly 5-10 minutes. This means the staging is holding their interest and drawing them in, which is more likely to result in an offer.
75% of sellers who invested 1% of their homes value into staging saw a 5-10% ROI…RESA
In my opinion the biggest benefit to home staging is the emotional attachment. When a space is staged the prospect can imagine what it will look and feel like to live there. It gives them an idea of how their furniture will fit into the space and ways they can decorate it. Clothing stores use this technique all the time. You go to buy a pair of slacks and its out fitted with the perfect top, jacket and shoes.
With all the benefits of staging a home including faster sales and higher prices it only makes sense to stage.
